Photocase on the Kindle

Having never actually seen a Kindle in real-life until last week when a friend of mine produced one from his oversized coat pocket, I am now pretty convinced that it’s awesome and I want one. It’s small and light and real easy to read, and apparently it only uses the battery when it changes whatever’s on the screen. Two things: I did have to keep on having to stop myself from touching the screen to get it to do what I wanted to, but that’s clearly a mental problem I’ll have to solve on my own. And the screen was so nice to look at that I couldn’t believe that it didn’t have a backlight, even going so far as to climb under my desk (where it’s dark) before my brain and eyes would finally agree with what the owner was saying. So, you can pull books out of the invisible cloud, read them comfortably and happily, but what’s even more awesome is that you can get your Photocase fix (albeit B&W) with the Kindle too! Try doing that with a bunch of dirty paper.
